Hands and Feet

Self-portraits are the ultimate exercise for an artist’s self-exploration. They represent the artist as a whole. A true and deep insight into how they see themselves, what they are feeling and how they want to be seen.

Influenced by aboriginal art, Miami Beach based artist, Alberto de Meneses’s “Self-Portrait” is far from ordinary. In this work he presents the viewer with a simple but at the same time detailed highlight of his hands and feet. By using his extremities as the subject matter of this self-portrait, De Meneses is symbolizing his personal reciprocity towards his work, humanity, surroundings, himself. Quite the statement of “fingerprinting.”
